Personal Statement

Beth Markley is a humor writer who lives in Idaho with her husband and two teen sons. She is fortunate to be surrounded by family members who, like her, relish opportunities to travel by airplane, train, ferry, bus, or car, to places where all the sights, smells, and sounds are new and adventure awaits. Together they have taken road trips across the Western US, and traveled to various destinations in Europe and Central America.

Beth and her family regularly host foreign exchange students, and counsel US students on exchange. Their oldest son is scheduled for a year-long exchange in Denmark beginning in August, 2016.

Beth publishes weekly stories about family travel, misadventures in parenting, perspectives on youth exchange, running long distances very slowly, and other reasons to laugh at her blog: Manic Mumbling.
