Sally Black considers herself extremely fortunate to be able to spend her days working on her two favorite passions in life – parenting and travel. She established Vacationkids as one of the first home-based travel agencies back in 2001 as a means to balance family and career. Sally created Vacationkids with the notion that a family vacation is much more than just a week at the beach. Travel offers parents a vital means to teach important life lessons to kids in a fun and engaging way, while creating family bonds that will last for generations.

Sally caught the travel bug herself as a single mother with three young children. She left her position as a pediatric nurse to become marketing director for one of the first online travel companies. She quickly found herself speaking, consulting and traveling the globe, often with her kids along for the ride. This practical experience, parental multitasking and first-hand travel knowledge is what she shares with her clients. She’s also offers this unique insight during national TV interviews on CNN, ABC and NBC. Sally has also been quoted by the New York Times, USA Today, The Wall Street Journal and The Washington Post.

To celebrate the 15th anniversary of Vacationkids, Sally published her first book “Fearless Family Vacations – Make Everyone Happy Without Losing Your Mind”. In the book, Sally acts as a tour guide leading parents to the perfect family vacation. Sally teaches families how to confidently plan enjoyable, affordable vacation experiences with their children at every age. The book also addresses the unique needs of today’s families offering specific travel tips for divorced, blended, gay, single-parent and multi-generational families.

Sally resides in the Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania with her husband Brian and her collies. She’s recently been promoted to the most thrilling position of her entire career and has added the honored title of “Grandma” to her illustrious resume.
