Featuring spacious tents offering running water, en suite facilities and exceptional service, Serengeti Explorer Camp brings you closer to the action. The camp moves three times during the year so that its location is always near the best game viewing.

The small size of the camp, with only 8 deluxe tents and 2 family tents, means that guests enjoy an intimate, personalised experience. A private tent valet will look after every need from dusting off the luggage on arrival to bringing a selection of fresh fruit and hot beverages in the early morning before a game drive. The camp also features an elegantly appointed lounge tent and an all new dining tent so travellers can enjoy the company of fellow adventurers and swap stories of the day’s wildlife viewing.

Offering spacious family tents is just part of our family offer. The guide offers nature walks around the camp’s grounds pointing out the signs of wildlife activity from footprints to dung. Children learn about plants and trees and some of their traditional uses. The camp staff share stories about the things they have seen in the bush and their younger days. Material is on hand to make friendship bracelets, play traditional African musical instruments, and learn to cook traditional African dishes. Children learn the sounds of the wild from the call of the ring necked dove to the roar of a lion. Time is spent gazing at the night sky, flooded with stars, aided by an onsite telescope, unhindered by light pollution found in towns and cities. Games are available from football and archery to a selection of board games.

Each child receives an activity pack including a backpack, pencils, baseball cap, post cards and an age specific activity book filled with puzzles and fun things to do. Children also get access to the exclusive Rafiki Explorer Club website to find additional puzzles and games and other activities as well as Kiswahili music.
