The New Web Face of the Family Travel Association

It's launched! The new content-rich and consumer-facing website of the Family Travel Association is now live, complete with a Letter from our Founder, Rainer Jenss, and a guide to the website outlining the four ways to filter through our resources. 

Whether travelers need family travel ideas, planning tools or advice, we've built a way for them to plan their family getaways by curating the best family travel content on the web from leading resources in the business, including writers and bloggers, media outlets, family travel websites and companies that serve traveling families.

Family Travel Association Featured in USA Today

Perfectly timed for the launch of our new website, USA Today ran an article by Christopher Elliott, a consumer advocate and editor at large for National Geographic Traveler, detailing how we are set to fight for the rights of family travel.

"The fact is, the industry has never before come together for the specific purpose of helping families and inspiring them to travel," our founder, Rainer Jenss, is quoted as saying. "Now, the industry is joining forces to present a clear and unified message — that travel with kids can be transformational, not just recreational, and that there are things you can do with your children that you may never have dreamed possible."

FTA Board Member and Expedia Viewfinder Senior Editor Matt Villano Emphasizes the Importance of Grownup Time When Traveling with Family

The FTA has assembled a remarkable family-travel brain trust to guide our development – advisors on our board and other councillors, members and partners with many years of travel thought-leadership. Over the coming weeks and months, we will share a bounty of wisdom from their decades of advocacy for and hands-on practice in family travel.

Following inaugural pieces by Keith Bellows, Emeritus Editor-in-Chief of National Geographic Travel, and by Kyle McCarthy, Editor of Family Travel Forum, this week the spotlight turns to freelance writer Matt Villano, a board member of the FTA and senior editor of the Expedia Viewfinder travel blog. He explores how the importance of grownup time when traveling with family.

Family Travel on #TWChats Twitter Chat on April 15

Remember to mark your calendars. At 3pm EST on Wednesday, April 15, family travel will be the topic of the #TWChats Twitter chat and will focus on trends within family travel, including top destinations and experiences for multigenerational families, as well as tips for selling to families. The Family Travel Association will be one of the co-hosts, so be sure to follow us on Twitter at @FamilyTravAssoc and then look for the #TWChats hashtag next week.
