Two years ago, our survey showed that the pandemic strongly affected family travel behavior. For example, active vacation types such as camping and visits to National Parks saw a surge in interest, which has since returned to pre-pandemic levels. And two years ago, 26% of respondents considered COVID-related concerns such as social distancing in their lodging choices, whereas that has now dropped to 9%. However, the dominant factor (70% of respondents) for families choosing accommodations is still cleanliness and sanitation, followed closely by proximity to attractions (65%) and value for price paid (57%).
This is a condensed summary of findings from the 2023 Annual US Family Travel Survey.
