Marketing and eCommerce Executive

Mike Janes is a marketing and eCommerce executive, and builder of internet businesses for both new and world class brands. Mike is founder of a family-focused startup currently in stealth mode, as well as a strategic advisor for consumer startups – consulting on family travel, marketplaces, content marketing, community development, and social commerce.

Mike was FedEx’s first VP of Electronic Commerce Marketing, with responsibility for pioneering internet website fedex.com. He was also the first VP/GM of Apple’s online Worldwide Apple Store, named Consumer Reports’ “#1 computer manufacturer website”. Mike was the first CMO of StubHub, the world’s largest ticket marketplace and Inc. magazine’s #8 fastest growing private company prior to StubHub’s acquisition by eBay. He was CEO and co-founder of FanSnap, a multiple award-winning event ticket search engine that was acquired by Nextag. Mike most recently was CMO of Vacatia, which was named the American Resort Development Association’s “ACE Innovator Award: Industry Partner”. Mike holds an MBA from Vanderbilt University’s Owen Graduate School of Management.

Residing in the Bay Area, Mike, his wife Bobbi, and their grown children travel frequently, quite often in association with major sporting events, concerts, or theater performances. Having traveled to 46 states and 19 countries, he considers the lifetime of family travel experiences they’ve shared a priceless source of memories as well as a valuable investment in their futures.
