Nancy Schretter is the Founder & Managing Editor of theFamily Travel Network and President of Beacon Group Holdings, Inc., a diversified holding company that has operated businesses in the travel and publishing fields since 1988. The Family Travel Network first launched in partnership with America Online in 1995 and has served the needs of millions of family travelers.
As an award-winning writer and editor, Nancy’s articles, insights and quotes on travel have been featured in USA TODAY, Businessweek, American Way, Redbook, Family Fun, Family Circle, Parents, Good Housekeeping, Real Simple, Leisure Group Travel, Travelocity, Travel Weekly,TravelAge West, Courier, TravelWorld Magazine and many other print and online publications. Nancy has appeared as a family travel expert on television and radio shows including The TODAY Show, CNN, and NBC News.
Nancy is a consultant and frequent speaker at travel industry conventions, conferences and events. With an MBA and over a decade spent advising major corporations, Nancy has consulted with companies and organizations to help them tap emerging trends, assess their marketing and competitive strategies, develop new products and services, and improve their marketing results. She’s also the Founder of Together for Good, an organization that promotes giving back as part of the travel experience.
Prior to launching Beacon Group Holdings, Nancy was Executive Vice President and co-founder of a 25-person marketing consulting firm with $2 million in annual revenue. Nancy also served as Vice President of Marketing for The Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC), where she generated a four-fold increase in sales and a 300% increase in market awareness. She also held positions as a Marketing Director for Gould, Inc., and as an Associate with The MAC Group (now Capgemini US). Nancy graduated summa cum laude from Wellesley College with a B.A. degree in Psychology and received her MBA from The University of Virginia’s Darden Graduate School of Business, where she serves on the Executive Committee of the Alumni Advisory Board.
Nancy has two daughters and has been traveling with her family since her children were four months old, both domestically and around the globe. She resides with her family in Virginia.
