The FTA Classroom initiative, headed by FTA Board member, Claire Zlobin, is showcasing the creative ways our members are bringing fun and educational activities to families who are homebound during the COVID-19 pandemic. We urge everyone to check them out on our Facebook page (@familytravelassociation) and share them with families who might have kids getting stir crazy. Here are some great examples:
Any member can post using the #FTAClassroom if they are doing virtual events, and we will share it on our social media pages and include it in the newsletter. Some members will be featured for the week and get the additional benefits listed below.
- Feature on the FTA Podcast with Aaron
- Inclusion in the Take Family Time newsletter which reaches consumers
- Feature in the FTA industry newsletter
- Weekly feature on the FTA Social media pages
- Promotion of your event by FTA media members
Themes (for now):
1: Learning through travel: World Geography lesson/ scavenger hunts (Kid focused)
2: Wellness / Selfcare / Book Club (Can be parent-focused)
3: Family Night In: A cook with me session where families can cook together and then share their masterpieces online using the hashtag (Family Focused)
4: Tours / could be museum tours or a tour guide who showcases something about their destination and bring the viewers along. (Kid Focused)
Reach out to Claire at Claire.firstname.lastname@example.org to participate!
Do you already have an event coming up that is a fit? We’d love to highlight it as a featured classroom.
Can you host an event? This can be a live event or it can be pre-taped. The idea is to have these scheduled 2 weeks in advance so that we can share them in the newsletters, and on social media to families participating live.
