South African-based Jumbari Family Safaris hosted a family travel webinar to explore the challenges and opportunities which await the industry in a post-COVID-19 world

The webinar was facilitated by the CEO of the Ker & Downey® Africa Group, Lee Kelsall, who represented Jumbari Family Safaris, a division launched by the group in early 2019 to cater to the family traveler.

“I think that this period has forced us all to reflect on what is most important in life and quality family time is high up most people’s list,” said Lee as he introduced the topic to the panel on Thursday.

The webinar took the form of a panel discussion and featured a number of experts from the industry including Rainer Jenss, the PFounder of the Family Travel Association in the USA, as well as representatives from Belmond Safaris, Sabi Sabi, An African Anthology, Dream Hotels and Resorts and the One&Only.

Notes on the panel:

Rainer Jenss is the Founder of the Family Travel Association in the USA, a coalition of leading family travel suppliers, resources and experts. Rainer is a father of two and spent 13 years at National Geographic including as publisher of National Geographic Kids.

Cindy Boshoff, the Sales and Marketing Director of Belmond Safaris in Botswana.

Lize Smit, the International Sales Manager of One&Only Cape Town.

Jan Scholtz, the Trade Relations Manager of Sabi Sabi. Founded in 1979, Sabi Sabi runs four luxury game lodges in the Sabi Sabi Private Game Reserve of the Sabie Game Reserve in the South-Western section of the Greater Kruger National Park.

Chris Anagostellis, Chief Executive of An African Anthology, a hospitality and marketing representation company based in South Africa who represent amongst a multitude of lodges and hotels, Kapama Private Game Reserve in South Africa and Kadizora Camp in Botswana.

Wayne Neath, the National Sale Manager of Dream Hotels & Resorts. Dream Hotels & Resorts runs a portfolio of hotels, lodges and private villas across South Africa with a private villa option in Mozambique.
