OUR GUEST

Jennifer Fontaine – Managing Editor of Outdoor Families Magazine

Born and raised in New Orleans, Jennifer Fontaine has been in the business of storytelling for over three decades.

Early in her career as an actor, she worked alongside filmmakers like Adam Rifkin and Brad Wyman before jumping into screenwriting and producing under her own banner company, in 2001. For more than a decade Jennifer effectively piloted numerous film projects, from development through distribution and her work in front of and behind the camera received critical acclaim from a wide variety of Entertainment Industry mainstays, including TV Guide, Entertainment Tonight, and Variety.

In 2012, Jennifer’s love of travel and outdoor adventure steered her into the world of online publishing and travel journalism. She founded the popular southern California travel blog MommyHiker.com, which then blossomed into a larger global vision with the  2015 launch of Outdoor Families Magazine, a comprehensive resource for multi-generational travel and outdoor recreation-related activities meant to inspire a connection to and stewardship of the natural world.

Working from OFM’s Los Angeles office, Jennifer oversees the overall design, aesthetic and content direction of the magazine. She is also a regular contributor to the magazine, writing about her family’s international adventures and multi-cultural living.

Jennifer Fontaine is a member of Screen Actors Guild?American Federation of Television and Radio Artists, Producers Guild of America, North American Travel Journalists Association, Family Travel Association, and the National Association of Professional Women.

ABOUT OUR HOST

Thanks to the generosity of his grandmother, Aaron Schlein traveled to four continents and a dozen countries before he was old enough to vote. Those early trips convinced him that travel is an essential part of life.

More than two decades later, Aaron remains inspired by his grandmother’s generosity. He is committed to honoring her legacy by sharing the gift of travel with his own kids—and by helping other parents do the same.

Aaron is the host of Family Travel Radio—a weekly podcast presented by The Family Travel Association.

Aaron also helps new entrepreneurs use their personal stories to build a network, expand influence, and strengthen relationships.

Aaron lives in Sacramento, California with his wife and two children (who are growing up too fast!)
